This was a project where i was told to make a games level with a theme.
So i decided the theme i should do would be roman, so that’s where i got the idea to do a roman coliseum, despite it's rectangular exterior and not round, this is due to me wanting to spice things up and slightly change the shape and adapt it to a games level which could be used for different occasions.
This was a project to make a sting for the company baa (British Animation Awards), i got the idea as you can see from Space invaders, but i wanted to spice things up and add the "baa" into the equation as BAA is the sound of sheep, i added sheep.
The first thing i wanted to do with this animation was to make it funny, that was my goal and gladly i accomplished that. This piece of work was also entered into a competition called anigame where both animation and games design pieces of work were added.
This piece of work came first for best technical and one of the judges stated ”The visual design is strong in this film, making the concept easy to comprehend, and showing an understanding of how to get the message across in a 20 second sting. The sound was also very effective in this piece."
This was another project where i was told to create a character, i got straight into this and 'started thinking out the box' i wanted a character which was different, something which wasn't normal and had two legs, two arms, looked slightly human but may be slightly different.
I partially got the idea because i was watching harry potter and the sorting hat, which was just a normal witches hat, but talked, inspired me to do something similar, so i started getting different ideas of which objects i can make talk, which i eventually came up with a book, and the name omniscient, was a side joke of mine, as a book can have much information and a tome usually having lots of knowledge in it, the name "all knowing" book came to be, and a book which can speak?
Unlimited knowledge.
This was my first attempt at a games character, and my first complete rigging with BIP files. I was given the word 'reptile' which i came up with a massive back story which gave me Alex Grace the mutant scientist. The model was made in Autodesk Maya, rigged in Autodesk 3ds Max and Bips were also made in 3ds, and textured in zbrush.
This was a model of one of my friends face with phonemes, i did have him saying some very simple sentences, but can't seem to find where i have stored them, so will add them up at a later date when I’ve found them.
This is a third year project, where i was apart of a three man group.
Both me and a colleague did the animation, I did most, but he did the animation up to the end of the bedroom sequence.
Lighting, Sound, Editing was done by me.
